Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)

Definition

Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) is the practice of optimising a brand and its content to be cited in the answers generated by AI engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.

Why it matters

As people read AI-generated answers instead of clicking links, GEO determines whether your brand is one of the few sources the AI names. It works through entity clarity, extractable content and earned citations.
