- Share of voice (AI search)
- Share of voice in AI search is the proportion of relevant AI-generated answers that mention or cite your brand, compared with competitors.
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is a technique where an AI model retrieves relevant, current information from a data source and uses it to generate a more accurate, grounded answer.
- llms.txt
- llms.txt is a plain-text file placed at a website's root that gives AI crawlers a concise summary of the brand and a curated list of key URLs to help models understand and cite the site.
- Perplexity
- Perplexity is an AI answer engine that responds to questions with a generated answer and prominently cites the web sources it used.
- AI Overviews (Google)
- Google AI Overviews are AI-generated answer summaries shown at the top of Google search results that answer a query directly and cite a small number of sources.
- AI search
- AI search is a way of finding information where an AI engine understands a question and generates a direct answer, often citing sources, instead of returning a list of links.
- Large Language Model (LLM)
- A large language model (LLM) is a type of generative AI trained on vast amounts of text to understand and produce human-like language.
- Generative AI
- Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that creates new content — text, images, audio, video or code — based on patterns learned from large amounts of training data.
- AI agent
- An AI agent is a system, usually built around a large language model, that can take a goal, plan the steps to achieve it, and act across tools and systems with limited human input.
- Agentic AI
- Agentic AI is artificial intelligence that can pursue a goal by planning steps and taking actions across tools with limited human input, rather than only responding to a single prompt.
